A boxy drop shoulder tee with optional side splits at the hem finished with cotton twill tape, plus a choice of rounded or angled patch pockets. View A has long sleeves, view B has short sleeves.

Size range 0-3m - 8yr

Ability level - Beginner / Easy - if adding side splits & twill tape, it might be considered advanced beginner

Recommended fabric - Light to mid-weight knit fabrics such as cotton or merino jersey. A small amount of elastane/spandex in the jersey is workable, but if the fabric is very stretchy, you may find sewing the splits & pocket a bit tricky. This pattern is not designed for ribbed fabrics.

Whale print Riley Top B is shown here made from 100% cotton jersey. Model is 15 months old and wearing size 2, shortened by 2.5cm. He can wear a size 1 but his large tummy makes the style not so boxy any more. He is around the 91st percentile for weight, 85th percentile for height.

Riley Top A in grey/white stripe shown here is made from 100% merino jersey. This is a nice little basic merino style with or without the side splits.

Top A (no pocket, no side splits) is size 4, worn by age 4 model. Made from an organic cotton/elastane jersey. This fabric is very stretchy & quite spongey, so a sewing on a pocket is not workable.
