Evie Dress

An easy fitting dress with round neck, gathered skirt at empire waist, ruffled bodice and back button closure. View A has long sleeves with elasticated cuffs. View B is sleeveless. Self bias binding finishes the armholes (view B only) & neckline.

Sizes 6-9m - 8yr
Ability level - Intermediate 

Sewing techniques included: baby hem on the ruffle edges (see our Instagram highlights for a video tutorial), self bias binding at the armholes (view B only) & neckline, double neatening the sleeve cuffs to create a channel for the elastic & double neatened skirt hem. The rest of the garment is made up from straight stitching, gathering & overlocking (serging).

Trims: 3 or 4x 16L/10mm buttons & a small amount of interfacing for the back placket

View A shown here in black/white gingham is made from a 100% cotton poplin.  Model wears size 2, is aged 2.5yrs, 94cm tall and weighs 15.5 kilos (34.2 pounds). She is around the 91st percentile on the growth charts. A size 3 is roomy on her but still wearable.

View A in burgundy mid-weight linen is size 3 - model is age 4.25 years. She still fits the size 3 in width but the sleeves and hem are a bit short (little kids between 2 and 5 grow a lot in length but not that much in width).
